Thor’s Stewardship of Cursed Artifacts
Among the sacred duties performed within the Coven, none are more quietly perilous than the investigation, containment, and management of cursed objects—and none more trusted in this work than Thor. Known for his attunement to subtle magical flows and chaotic alignments, Thor acts as the Coven’s primary steward of malignant artifacts—those items steeped in hex, possession, misaligned spirits, or untethered energetic residue.
Thor’s first approach is always one of observation and diagnosis, guided by intuition and the lay. He does not rush to cleanse or destroy, knowing that not all curses are born of malice—some are echoes, bindings, or broken pacts. His role is not to purge blindly, but to discern the nature of the magic: Is it living or residual? Is it reactive, dormant, or seeking a new vessel? Why?
When possible, he dispels the curse gently through ritual unweaving. But when a curse resists, when it clings like pitch to its vessel, Thor shifts from healer to warden. In such cases, he employs his signature technique to create arcane prisons, not to punish but to prevent leakage.
Such items are then interred in a hidden sanctuary known only to Thor and the coven founders—a place ritually sealed and spiritually fortified, where no untrained hand may stumble upon them. The vault itself is alive with warding enchantments, designed to neutralize magical activity, muffle spiritual resonance, and alert Thor if anything stirs within.
He understands that cursed objects carry stories, and stories carry power. Some must be unmade. Others must simply never be touched again.
