Coven of the Veiled Moon

Membership to the Coven

The Coven of the Veiled Moon welcomes sincere seekers, practitioners, and students of the Craft who wish to grow in knowledge, deepen their practice, and share in the rhythm of the seasons. While our foundation is Wiccan in spirit, our members walk many paths. We honor diversity of practice and perspective, guided always by respect, integrity, and balance.

✦ How Membership Works

Membership in the Coven is a deliberate and thoughtful process that unfolds in rhythm with the Wheel of the Year. Applications are collected in the weeks between the Sabbats, and each cycle the Founders review all submissions in preparation for the next Initiation Window.

Those whose applications are accepted will be invited to begin the Welcome and Initiation process, which includes a review of our Bylaws, acknowledgment of our Oath of Fellowship, and participation in a brief orientation to our traditions, tools, and expectations.

Once initiated, each new member enters a One-Year Cycle of Exploration — a period of growth and reflection designed to help each witch determine whether our circle and rhythm are right for them. During this time, new members may attend rituals, participate in study, and contribute to discussions and seasonal observances.

✦ Structure and Participation

Our coven operates as a non-profit collective with an emphasis on shared responsibility. We are a decentralized and international circle, meeting primarily online to accommodate different time zones and life circumstances. The majority of our communication is handled through electronic formats — chat, email, and virtual gatherings.

Members are expected to attend Sabbat Check-ins, which serve as both spiritual touchstones and opportunities to discuss coven business, seasonal projects, and upcoming rites.

During the Initiation, members formally recognize and agree to the Coven’s bylaws and ethical guidelines. Each member participates under a chosen name, reflecting their magical identity and privacy within the circle.

✦ Application and Consideration

Applications received are reviewed for the next initiation window.
If not immediately selected, applications are kept on file for future consideration, especially when the Founders feel a later cycle may be more harmonious for both the applicant and the Coven’s current energy.

Membership decisions are made by vote of the Founders after deliberation.
Notifications and next steps are sent via email to the address provided on the application form.

  • Selection Process:
All applications are reviewed by the Founders’ Committee, which considers each candidate with care and respect. In most cases, this review is followed by a brief phone or virtual interview to ensure alignment with the Coven’s values and rhythm.
Applicants will be notified of their status approximately one month prior to the Initiation Sabbat.
Should an application not be accepted at that time, constructive guidance may be offered on how to strengthen or refine one’s application for the next intake cycle, when appropriate.
Selection is made with the balance and well-being of the Coven foremost in mind, followed by consideration of what each new member may contribute to the collective energy.
  • We are a welcoming circle, but a deliberate one — seeking harmony, not haste.

Those who join the Coven of the Veiled Moon step into a shared current of learning, reverence, and co-creation — a fellowship bound not by proximity, but by purpose.
