The Threshold
A beginning place for new seekers, curious minds, and those stepping gently into the art and study of witchcraft.
Welcome to Witchcraft & Wicca
Witchcraft and Wicca are living, evolving traditions that invite inquiry and reverence. We study and practice as a coven rooted in both scholarship and personal experience, blending ancient ideas with modern understanding. What you’ll find here are not fixed doctrines, but reflections—paths of thought, history, and meaning for those who wish to walk with awareness.
About MCC & Our PathWicca and Witchcraft
Though often spoken in one breath, Wicca and Witchcraft are distinct yet intertwined. Wicca is a modern Pagan religion with structured ritual and seasonal observance, while Witchcraft is a broader practice—older, adaptive, and at times entirely secular. Both honor nature, balance, and responsibility. We explore where these rivers meet and where they diverge.
Wicca, Witchcraft, and Modern PracticeOur Stance
We are dualist Wiccan practitioners with Neopagan and eclectic leanings. We see all magic as colored by intention, not by moral pigment—“white” and “black” are symbolic languages, not absolutes. We learn from many sources yet bow to none; our practice is plural, reflective, and ethical. The goal is not power, but relationship—between shadow and light, word and world.
Our Philosophical RootsHow We Work & Why We Write
We do not follow trends, quick fixes, or aesthetic fashion. Manifestation and “pop-witch” culture can inspire, but true craft asks for reflection, patience, and honesty. Our pages are long because our practice is layered: we write to understand, and we share what emerges. Study and self-observation are sacred acts.
The Nature of the CraftNotions & Core Concepts
Certain words appear often here—magic, ritual, liminal, shadow, circle, intention. Each carries centuries of use and layers of meaning. These terms form a shared language that helps us speak about unseen things clearly and respectfully. Understanding them gives shape to the rest of your journey.
Learn the Language of the CraftCommon Questions
New travelers often ask how to begin, what tools they need, or whether one can be both witch and Christian. These questions matter because they open dialogue between experience and belief. We answer simply, knowing that every answer deepens as you live it. Curiosity is sacred; it is the first spell every witch casts.
Read the Beginner FAQsSources & Research
Our materials arise from the study and lived experience of our coven. When we draw upon external writers or traditions, they are credited; otherwise, what you read is our own work and reflection. We aim for accuracy, but the craft is not static—each insight grows with practice. Read critically, kindly, and with a scholar’s curiosity.
