Coven of the Veiled Moon

Coven of the Veiled Moon
Membership Application

Applications Are Currently Closed

Thank you for your interest in My Cousin’s Coven and the Coven of the Veiled Moon.

We are not presently accepting new members into active candidacy or initiation. You may still submit an application to be kept privately on record for consideration when the next application period opens.

Submission does not guarantee an interview, acceptance, initiation, or membership. Because the Coven is volunteer-run and applications are considered thoughtfully, we may not contact applicants until recruitment resumes.

My Cousin’s Coven and the Coven of the Veiled Moon

My Cousin’s Coven is our public-facing educational and service presence. Through the website, Facebook community, Ask a Witch, spellwork support, divination, and educational resources, we seek to provide a welcoming place for learning, discussion, spiritual guidance, and engagement with the wider magical community.

The Coven of the Veiled Moon is our private initiatory Coven. It is structured, intentional, and distinct from MCC’s public community. Submitting this application is an expression of interest in the Coven itself, not simply in the public website or social group.

Some traditions describe a similar relationship through the terms “Outer Court” and “Inner Court.” Although MCC’s public work serves a comparable educational and community purpose, we do not formally use those titles. We distinguish instead between our public mission, our broader community, and the private initiatory work of the Coven.

The Novitiate and Initiation

Those invited to pursue membership begin with a one-year novitiate: one full solar cycle devoted to study, practice, discernment, communication, and the gradual building of a relationship with the Coven.

Completing the novitiate does not automatically result in initiation. Initiation is a mutual decision made only when both the novice and the Coven believe that continuing together is appropriate.

Our Practice and Orientation

The Coven is generally neo-Pagan in orientation and has a developing syncretic approach to witchcraft, ritual, ethics, service, and spiritual practice.

We include people from different paths and perspectives, including a small non-theistic minority. Applicants must be able to respect the Coven’s identity and collaborate in good faith with both believers and non-believers.

Participation and Location

The Coven was established through three founding locations: the Pacific Northwest, the Midwest, and Sweden. In-person work continues in those areas.

We are newer to the online space and expect members from all locations to participate together through online discussion, study, communication, and Coven activities. Living near a founding location is not required.

Thoughtful growth into new locations may be considered when it can be developed with careful planning, appropriate support, and Coven approval.

Privacy and Application Review

Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Information submitted through this form will be used privately for application review, safeguarding, internal Coven administration, and communication concerning the application.

Please answer honestly, but share only information you are comfortable providing for those purposes.

Although the Coven is new to sharing more of its work online, the Coven itself is not new. Expanding our online presence is an extension of our commitment to education, service, thoughtful discussion, and meaningful connection within the wider Pagan and magical community.

Please Review Our Public Guidance

Before submitting an application, please learn more about who we are, how we approach ethical practice, and the principles that guide our spiritual and magical work.

Whether you are here to learn, ask questions, explore, or consider a deeper relationship with the Coven, we appreciate the thoughtfulness that brought you to this threshold.

Tell us where you are right now, whether you are new, still exploring, or have practiced for many years. Beginners are welcome; this question is simply meant to help us understand your current starting point, what influences you, and how you presently engage.
Experience is not required. If you are just beginning, say so plainly and tell us what you have studied, tried, or feel drawn toward.
The Coven is generally neo-Pagan in orientation, but we welcome people from many paths who can collaborate respectfully. We also have a small atheist minority. Belief is not required, but respect for members who do honor deities, spirits, or sacred powers is essential, just as their respect for non-theistic members is expected. If none of this currently applies to you, you may answer “None at this time.”
There is no single correct answer. We are interested in how you understand witchcraft in your own life—as spirituality, practice, craft, relationship, discipline, identity, service, transformation, or something else.
The Coven values compassion and service, but we are not exclusively “love and light.” We believe in balance, accountability, justice, protection, boundaries, and, at times, responsible work within shadowed or difficult areas of practice. Tell us how you think about ethical responsibility, consent, proportion, and consequence when deciding whether and how to act. https://www.mycousinscoven.com/about-our-ethics/
We are simply curious about what brought you to us and what felt meaningful. Your answer may be as simple as being drawn to our colors, imagery, tone, or website, or as strong as feeling a resonating calling or connection to our work.
Are you able and willing to maintain regular communication and participate actively in Coven discussions and activities?
The Coven is primarily organized through its online presence. Regular communication matters more than constant availability, and members are not expected to be online at all times.
You may include your schedule, time zone, technology access, health, caregiving, privacy at home, transportation, work, school, or other responsibilities. Limitations do not automatically disqualify an applicant; we ask so expectations can be realistic. “No” is a fine answer if no concerns.
How would you expect to participate in the Coven?
The Coven was established through three founding locations—the Pacific Northwest, the Midwest, and Sweden—where in-person work continues to take place. We are newer to the online space and expect members from all locations to participate together in online discussions, study, and Coven activities. Living near one of the founding locations is not required. We are also open to thoughtful growth in new areas when it can be developed with careful planning, appropriate support, and Coven approval.
Please describe the experience briefly. If not, you may answer “No.”
If not, you may answer “No.” A yes answer does not automatically prevent consideration; we ask so expectations, commitments, and possible conflicts can be understood clearly.
You may answer “Nothing at this time” if there is nothing additional to share.
We understand that spiritual life does not begin in isolation. People may carry inherited traditions, cultural celebrations, family beliefs, religious teachings, meaningful practices, or difficult experiences with faith and community. You are welcome to share what has shaped you, including both what you value and what you may still be healing from. Please share only what feels appropriate.
You may use this space to add context, clarify an earlier answer, or share anything you believe would help us understand you more fully. You may answer “Nothing further” if your previous responses cover everything.
Applications should be a beginning of mutual conversation, not only an evaluation of the applicant. Ask us something you genuinely want to understand about the Coven, its practice, expectations, structure, or community.
